75 Hard

It's been a SUMMER!

I thought it would be easy and restful. Instead, the boys are doing the MOST...swim, water polo land training, and tutors. I have been a Momma-Taxi, Sous Chef, Travel Agent and don't forget my 9 to 5!

You may ask...what do you do for yourself? My answer is self-care through health and wellness.

Keep Moving

Since my knee is feeling 1000% better, I'm make at the gym EVERY DAY. If I don't make it, I'm outside walking. My Fitbit is blazing! My step count is somewhere between 10-20k depending on the day.

Eat Whole Foods

Seasonal fruit is AMAZING right now. Mississippi watermelons stay from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Farmers market cherries and berries are my staples. Peaches and grapes are now in season.

Meditation and Prayer

My rituals are all over the place but I am still in a good space staying connected.

Since there are always areas for improvement, I decided to do the 75 Hard Challenge. If you have never heard of this, it is a program created by Andy Frisella. The concept is basic.

Follow 6 simple rules for 75 days. The program is to build mental toughness and discipline.

The daily rules are simple.

  1. Complete two 45 minutes workouts (one MUST be outside)

  2. Take a Progress Picture

  3. 10 Pages of Reading a self-help/non-fiction book

  4. Drink 1 Gallon of Water

  5. Follow a Diet

  6. No Cheat Meals or Alcohol

I have no idea how this challenge popped into my algorithms. I was not looking for a challenge. It really found me. My girlfriend, Maya, and I talked about it and decided to start together after both of our vacations. In the meantime, the hubby wanted to do a sugar detox for 10 days. I figured I could do BOTH! The detox would be a “diet” consisting of the following:

No dairy

No processed foods

No bread

No sugar

No condiments

We came home and immediately jumped into a 2-day water fast. This was the perfect way to transition into the Sugar Detox. After day three, I started having detox symptoms for almost a week. This included a runny nose, cough, and loose stools.

After two weeks of the challenge, I broke my plateau weight. The rash/discoloration on my arm has cleared. The bumps on my forehead that popped out during vacation are gone. My skin feels so good right now.

I look forward to see how I transform throughout the challenge! We’re about half way to the finish line!

My goals are:

Lose 8lbs of body fat

Maintain a low sugar diet - processed forms

Improve flexibility and mobility

Make time and space for what I love to do!

Hugs and Love!!!!

This is a great idea! I printed pages 3 and 4 with the intent of doing this challenge. I have that "Do Not Disturb" t-shirt. Sending Positive Vibes 🤗. Thanks for sharing❤️
