Do the Work!


I have noticed something. Whenever I am lazy, there is always a "setback". Over the past few days after my early morning puppy potty break, I have went back to sleep or I'll scroll through the happenings of the previous day. This bad behavior never really serves me well. I don't finish personal projects. My knee gives out because I haven't been doing my yoga. My afro is getting LARGER and tangled because I skipped my wash day. And my list goes on....


Why scroll social media and the news to look at the past? If I did not see it as it was unfolding, it really wasn't meant for me to be apart of the "action". Typically, I spend too much time having to catch up or fact check behind people (even the news). This only delays my own progress and is frankly a distraction.


Why are we so caught up with other people's business when you have your own work to do? This work can be professional, spiritual, physical, or mental. For some of us, it is all the above! What are you really afraid of? I know you want that job promotion or to lose those 20lbs you picked up over the last year.


This pep talk is NOT for the person who is settled with mediocrity. This is for the person who truly wants to do more for humanity or heal (or grow) themselves. Get off your rear...and do the WORK! Do not wait and do not delay. The time is NOW. Why not? What do you have to lose? You're already awake. Get something done. Prep your meals for the day. Spend 20 minutes journaling and manifesting your future. Pray over your children.

Yes, I've cut back a lot. When I received my screen time report, I knew it was time to focus on my journey. I'm more selective of how I spend my time. Besides, everything isn't for me to know. 😉
