Here's 5 Tips to Prepare for Your 2024 Health Goals!

Updated: Dec 24, 2023

December is the month of holiday parties and gifts. We are swiftly closing the door to 2023. We are wrapping up work projects and setting up our out of office notifications. We are packing up bags to travel to see family and friends. College students have made their way home for winter break. Final exams are wrapping up. Last minute Christmas presents are being purchased.

Many people wait until January 2nd (after the hangover on the 1st) to start New Year's resolutions. It's time to get back into the gym. It's time to start that fitness boot camp class. It's time to start detoxing or eating a healthier lifestyle. It's time to start praying or meditating. Just rip the band-aid off and get started right away. Back in the day, I would hit December hard with my gym workouts so I could rest the first couple of weeks in January. Simply to avoid the influx of people!

Who makes it until February with their resolutions? Do you connect your goals to a big event during the year like a fun Spring Break trip? Or a wedding?

Let's stop this cycle! TODAY!

Here's 5 things you can do now to achieve your 2024 health goals:

  1. Avoid sugar. If you only do ONE thing, DO THIS! Look at the sugar content in your favorite holiday latte. It will shock you. The recommended amount of sugar per day is 6 teaspoons or 24 grams for most women and 9 teaspoons or 36 grams for most men. One 16 ounce peppermint mocha or chai tea latte has 54 grams of sugar. One 12 ounce soda is 38 grams of sugar. If you cut your sugary drinks and snacks, you have made a large step to improve your overall wellness.

  2. Eat a large salad every day. Green leafy foods are healing. Load up on the greens!

  3. Avoid proceessed foods. If something has "natural flavors", its still processed. Anything that is pasturized is processed. Read labels and ingredients. If you read the ingredients and you cannot pronounce something, put the item down and find a healthier alternative.

  4. Get a Comprehensive Blood panel! This will help you identify deficiencies and make the necessary dietary or supplemental adjustments for improvement.

  5. Reduce stress. Learn how to breath properly. Create boundaries. Meditate. Surround yourself with people who give you good energy.

Make permanent lifestyle changes. Get your mind and body into balance. Help your body heal itself. For additional help, you know where to find me.

Hugs and Love!

Thanks for the reminder. I should have read it sooner 😂. I made yams for my grandson yesterday, but I didn't have any. I realized that I over did it this month. I have a healthy salad in the fridge, and a cleanse in the near future. Always learning😊.
