Holiday Wellness Goals

Do you know the average person gains 1-10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years? Even with the common New Year's resolution, only a fraction of that weight is actually lost. This compounded weight gain adds up over the years and can easily get you out of control.

Here's my plan at maintaining my weight until the new year.

  1. Continue working out 6 days a week. If our main gym is closed due to a holiday, we have an alternate 24 hour option. Otherwise, walking will be sufficient.

  2. Avoid the signature holiday coffee drinks, cocktails, and treats. I enjoy my corporate team get-togethers, but I will choose wisely.

  3. Extended family will connect for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. I will eat and drink whatever I like but will be my ONLY meal for the day.

  4. Freeze any sweet treats delivered to my house. Since I work from home most days, it is hard to share with my coworkers. Instead of eating it all at once, I will save them for the occasional treat.

  5. FAST! This is my favorite go-to!

To help promote weight maintainence, I have added a few more teas into my herbal arsenal. This includes loose black teas and a marsala chai from Golden Moon Tea. These have high caffeine content and can be used to replace espresso and coffee. Green, oolong, and black teas provide polyphenols. These polyphenols may help with metabolism, lower blood sugar, help with focus, and provide energy without having the coffee jitters.

Still feeling sluggish? A detox may be required. Message me directly if you need a short term remedy to get yourself through this holiday season!

Hugs and Love!
