Every year people create New Years resolutions. Most of them fail by the end of January. Some of them MIGHT last through February.
Why don't we just stop the nonsense and get real.
Lifestyle changes are much harder. Its an excuse to wait until December 31st at midnight. If you simply take baby steps, you can make permanent changes. Very few people can make a 180 degree change and stick it out for eternity. I think about all the boot camps, diet challenges, and gimmick weight loss plans that I have personally tried. They are all nice for a jump start but totally suck when you need a long term game plan for your health.
When I was a total gym rat, while masses were headed to the gym on January 1st to start their work out program, I would use the time to take a physical break. I would tamper down my work outs to low maintenance mode until the crowd died down in February. Once I had babies, I had to get a little more creative. Quickly I learned that my changes in my diet made an even greater impact on keeping my weight in check.
During the month of January, I will share tips and tricks that have worked for me, my husband, and children in improving our health over the years.

Please keep in mind hydration is not just plain water. Every item that is high in water content count such as herbal tea, fruit, soups, and coconut water. Hydration helps all the systems in your body remain operational. It also helps to remove waste from your body through mucus, tears, sweat, urine, and feces.
There are convenient times to ensure you get your water into your day.

Whenever you feel like you are hungry. Sometimes your brain confuses thirst with hunger. If you're are still hungry after drinking a glass of water, eat.
Before every meal. Do not drink and eat. It confuses the digestion of solid foods.
